So many things to mention, this was staying in a 5 star room on the cusp the untamed ocean and sprawling wilderness. Such an amazing experience, my whole family enjoyed the experience.

The mouth of the Smith River is a magical place and the XVR Resort provided a first class way to experience it. I heartily recommend this place to anyone, especially those who may want to ‘unplug’, disconnect and enjoy an idyllic few days with nature. We’ll definitely be back!

This was a wonderful place! the remodel is top quality in all areas So many nice amenities from the 2 stools and high table to the fixtures in the bathroom. there is a large refrigerator and microwave. plenty of storage in the large dresser , plugins for electronics and the added touch of 2 robes. It is very spacious including a private patio with rocking chairs and amazing view of the river including seals bathing on the beach and pelicans and egretts landing on rhe big rock in the middle of the bay. The customer service was top notch. Don't be swayed or discouraged by the moble home park you have to manuever through. It is well worth it!

Staff was helpful and this is a brilliant hotel with an amazing view! We were late driving to the hotel and for the check-in they were very helpful and waiting for us late into the night. The place had a stove, pots and pans, a huge refrigerator, microwave, cups and plates, everything needed to cook and a big restroom/shower. And a spacious room. Had a great time with them, will definitely come back and visit them again!

It was nice to have a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator. The view of the river, spit and ocean was five star. The bathroom fan needed attention.

Very confusing to find at first and the grounds that it’s on is a bit off putting because it’s not the nicest but once you drive back to the rooms the area is much cleaner. The room sits right on the shoreline and the rooms were much nicer than expected especially for the price. I will definitely stay here again and take advantage of the water activities. For that area it is a hidden gem!

The overall room itself was nice and clean. It was the part of trying to find the resort when you first arrive to the resort. It was confusing trying to drive to the room made it a little frustrating and stressful for me. That was my first time being in the city so the experience could have went more smoothly. Also the bathroom wasn’t all the way clean there was a pee stain I believe on the side of the roller when I arrived.

Unfortunately I cannot review this hotel, because we were never able to check in. Our whole trip was ruined, because Hotels.com never sent the reservation to the Hotel and by the time we arrived, there was no vacancy left. I was on the phone, mostly on hold, for 5 hours. None of the contacts that I got transferred to, were in the US, making an already stressful situation that much more stressful. Hotels.com tried shifting the blame first to me, then to the Hotel. They did very little, if anything to help rectify THEIR mistake. I have made 31 reservations through Hotels.com this year alone. I have several more scheduled. I am canceling and will NOT be using this platform again. This affected not only myself, but my partner and our two young children. Completely unacceptable.
