I had a great time staying at ryokan murayama. The proprietors were really friendly and welcoming. We also dined there one night, and we had an amazing time. Our room was generally quite spacious and cozy overall. There is room for improvement and renovation at the rook. Everything seemed very ancient. It didnt feel the cleanest, but the onsens worked out fine. Because you are away from the city, the location is ideal in some ways, giving off ambiance that feels rural and tranquil. However, if you take day trips from takaya, it takes 30 minutes to get to the station, which is not particularly inspiring. In the morning, when you return in the evening, there is nothing and you must walk back because there will be no bus. Knowing that the establishment isnt the most recent, im advised to stay here for reminiscence of traditional japanese countryside experience.

The ryokans proprietors and employees were incredibly cordial and fluent in english. Kindness is encouraged, and simple gestures like offering hot chocolate for children during breakfast are simple. The dinner with hida beef was delicious! We also had a great time with the charcoal bbq river fish! A small public onsen bath that is both men and women separate is very clean and cozy. We didnt check out the private bath available for couples.

The location is a very authentic ryokan with very friendly staff. The rooms could use some refurbishment but generally everything is well maintained. They have both public and private bathrooms which are incredibly nice experiences. A little bit far from the city center but close to hida village.

The most beautiful setting! It is quite quiet and serene, despite being slightly out of town. My boyfriend and i stayed there as early christmas presents while traveling in japan. We also had dinner there we chose the fullcourse dinner, which was definitely worth it! The fish skewer, sushi, and soups were all delicious, with everything cooked to perfection. If you want to have dinner come hungry because we were so full after that! Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating! We were immediately welcomed and at ease. The private onsen is also a real treat, unlike anything else weve ever experienced! They provide you with traditional robes and towels, bathing supplies, along with anything you need for an opulent time. Additionally, the rooms are roomy, spotless, warm. After our stay, we felt very rejuvenated and had slept well! Many thanks for it.

The proprietors are incredibly kind and accommodating. They can converse quite a bit in english. The rooms are cozy and spotless all around. A pleasant stay at ryokan traditional.
