This was the perfect place to stay for a first time visit to a Japanese Onsen town. Excellent location on the river within walking distance of all the included spas, many shops and places to eat. Recommendation from a staff member for great food/good value in 2 blocks. We definitely had our favorites eateries and Onsen, but the whole experience was just lovely and Ichidaya made it so. Most staff very pleasant, helpful and patient with our non-existent Japanese. The room in front was spacious, overlooking the river, and had all the amenities we needed to visit the spas in style. Only negatives were us mobility challenged seniors not getting access to the room before 3 PM after 3 flights in 24 hours. They were insistent on that, though they did keep bags for us until check-in. Also the slick steep wooden stairs were a challenge and we would’ve preferred a first floor room. But we managed taking care to use the railing, move slowly & get help with luggage. No complaints on the room itself -comfy twin beds, big picture windows and a heated toilet seat with bidet. Everything very clean. Didn’t opt for meals there, but they smelled delicious cooking. Lots of restaurants and shops within five minutes and the view from the ancient stone bridges down the river with the weeping willows was just gorgeous. About the town, easy walking around, 12 minutes to ropeway or train station, all onsens closer but we couldn’t find breakfast before 9am or dinner after 6pm on Saturday. Hmm.

近火車站一出商店街直行路口,第一條橋右手邊就到對面有超市,晚上氣氛很好隔離就是其中一個溫泉,非常方便。房間舒適乾淨

Staff was very accomodating! There was an English speaking staff member that sat down with us and explained everything we needed to know from how to wear the Yukata to using the 7 public onsens. The room itself was quite spacious and very tidy. We tried both of the private onsens on the premise, they were both clean and very relaxing to sit in! Check-in and check-out was easy, there were plenty of amenities on the premise, and they allowed early baggage drop off. Can't recommend enough :)

Kinosaki is such a beautiful community and this property was delightful. The room was a traditionally styled Japanese space and very comfortable.

Hotel location was at crossroads of two main streets with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. It was also a short walk from the train station and the public Onsens. Lastly the property has two private Onsens which could be reserved. Our stay was very relaxing.

We had a wonderful stay at our hotel in Kinosaki Onsen! The staff were incredibly nice, polite, and friendly—they spoke English very well, which made everything smooth and comfortable. The food was superb, especially the dinner, which featured a beautifully prepared 9-course meal showcasing local ingredients and flavors. The entire experience felt authentic and relaxing. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet, a perfect escape from the busy city life. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene getaway and exceptional hospitality!

My stay here was absolutely fantastic. The staff are very helpful and answered all kinds of questions about my room and the town itself. The room was immaculate and well-tended throughout my stay. Their private baths were very nice. It's in a nice location on the edge of the shopping area not far from the train station, with a nice view overlooking the river.

The staff are exceedingly polite and helpful. If you're tall mind the door frames as they are low.

Beautiful ryokan with a modern aesthetic in rooms. Spacious rooms and very friendly staff. Private baths were very hot and easily booked. Well located and easy to arrange for parking. Yukatas are provided and easy to wander the town, along with included pass to all the baths in town.

Good spot if visiting this cute onsen town, very friendly and accommodating staff. For the price I’d recommend looking at other places as we stayed one night at another family run inn which gave us the complete experience package for not much more, but still recommended.

I went to Kinosaki Onsen for my honeymoon. We also had two other friends traveling with us. I am plus size and was concerned about fitting into a yukata to walk around baths. I told them 2 months in advance and they reassured me there would be something that would fit me. Nothing fit me and that made me so upset. That was one of my big deciders for booking here that they said they were able to. I also told them of my friends food allergies is very specific detail such as her being allergic to eggs, nuts etc.The told me they could accommodate her allergies. They did not accommodate her as served her eggs everyday despite us telling the allergies months in advance and that they could accommodate us. This was not my first stay at a ryokan I have stayed at a ryokan in Kyoto and Ryokan in miyajima. Other ryokan robes we sae in Kinosaki onsen looked bigger than the ones we were accommodated with. I have had other robes at ryokans fit me. These ribes were very worn and old. While the staff was friendly I didnt feel like I was there for my honeymoon. I didnt need anything super special even just a mention. Would have been nice. They tried to put me and my husband in the less nice room and tried to put our friends with the room with the view. I felt like the staff was annoyed by us. I would not recommend this ryokan which makes me sad because I was the most excited about staying here.
