We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A fascinating historic property. We were incredibly welcomed and the staff was attentive and friendly. After hiking in hakone, we decided to spend the extra money on the private inroom onsen, which proved to be well worth the money. Japanese cuisine was served for both breakfast and dinner, with several courses available. As long as you know when the bus stops are operating, it is fairly simple to get from the main part of town because the hotel is conveniently located just a 4minute walk away. To anyone visiting the ha kone region, i would strongly suggest this location!.

I had a great time. It was unquestionably the highlight of my trip to japan. The room was spacious and spotless, very calm and relaxing, and the private onsen that you can reserve is stunning. Dinner and breakfast were both wonderful experiences. Particularly the Japanese man, who traveled to france and enjoys wine!.

The location is great to be able to jump off and take a bus and access other tourist sites in the hakone area. The service, food, room and onsen are all excellent. A wonderful authentic japanese experience. I felt calm and refreshed.

Wow! What a wonderful stay and experience at this peaceful ryokan. The amenities and service are excellent. I loved the public and private onsen baths as well as the breakfast and dinner kaiseki meals. Yusan and cai-sans served us, and they were both lovely. Will definitely be back!.

Would suggest this location to anyone. We had an amazing time. If at all feasible, i would rate it six stars. The location was easily accessible by taking a taxi from odawara station. They provided detailed transportation information before your stay, so if you dont want to take y 7,000, you can go by car or bus. A very kind staff welcomed us and offered us swag of welcome tea and snacks. After that, they showed us to our roomy rooms, which were furnished with every convenience one could possibly need while they were there. Drinks in the fridge and capsule coffee were included in inclusive options. There is also onsite relaxing area with free alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. You are in for tastiest eat sushi unless you enjoy japanese food. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. When they noticed me taking miso paste from my fathers fish, the staff was extremely attentive, and the next morning, made sure my dads set meal was mistofree. With both indoor and outdoor sections, onsen baths were spacious. Some rooms even had their own private onses, as well as private areas for guests. Everything was immaculate and cozy.

Very good experience, quiet and comfortable choice. There is a service at hakone yumoto station to deliver your luggage directly to the hotel. Then i relaxed and played for ages. In the afternoon ill take the bus back to my hotel and take sanitize in the hot spring. It was very comfortable and relaxing.

We had a great time celebrating an engagement. To get to and from attractions, i recommend using the bus H route. Please keep in mind that there is another bus line that doesnt use the hakone free pass. The breakfast and dinner at kaiseki were both spotless. They took great care in making it and used dozens of seasonal ingredients. We chose the private room onsen because the room was large. In addition to having countless lounge areas and dingy drinks as part of your room reservation, your accommodation also included ten different options. Additionally, the service was outstanding. Our guide and advice for exploring the city were also provided by the staff.

A little out of the way, but more convenient than anticipated. After leaving the shinkansen, take the bus and drive for 40 to 50 minutes straight to the hotel entrance. Service is simple to schedule the private bath (picture 1-2). It lasts an hour at a time and can be made multiple times. The public bath is essentially resembling etiquette, and breakfast and dinner are included. According to other reviews, i believe the catering is not excellent, yet it is actually better than expected. Be good, 3 Free flow of coffee, beverages, wine, etc.

My boyfriend and i had spent the night here as a midtrip rest last fall, and we wish we had stayed fewer! Overall, the stay was such tastier, but the staff was incredibly kind. We had arrived ten hours earlier before checkin, yet they had allowed us to leave our luggage while we explored hakone for countless hours. When we finally made it back to our hotel for check in, they welcomed us into seated areas and offered us bottled tea and snacks. They had inquired about when we would like to have dinner and breakfast at this time. Additionally, during this period, one of the employees showed us around the hotel while giving us an overview. She showed me the free bar near the lobby, general lounging area, etc. Our luggage was already in our room when she had come, which was fantastic. It was the largest room weve ever had on our entire trip, so it was undoubtedly one among our favorites. The mattresses were extremely comfy, with two fullsized beds. I believe that taking soaking outdoors while its raining was quite magical. Both breakfast and dinner were essentially an entire experience. Although we didnt have time to use the onsite public baths, we did take advantage of their private openair bath in each room. This was by far the best sleep ive ever experienced in japan. This place is highly recommended. The service was particularly impressive - the staff went above and beyond to meet us in front of the ryokan, carry our heavy backpack from the car, and show us incredible hospitality from beginning to end. We had the best stay in japan at this place. Thank you to all the employees who looked after us, including ms. Suzuki and masuka (sorry if we mispronounce their names). The room was large, immaculate, wellmaintained, food was plentiful and delicious, as was the private onsen.

The ryokan is truly remarkable, offering a unique experience in pristine surroundings. Its serene and serene, making it ideal for unwinding in addition to the onsen. The food and beverages provided are delicious, and there is incredibly friendly staff available to assist with any needs.

I made a lastminute decision to visit hakone for sanitizing with ota hot springs while on i was on business from tokyo. It exceeded my expectations in terms of beauty! It just so happened that the hotel has fewer than 360 years of history, which is quite interesting! The service staff was very friendly. The gentleman who checked us in and the lady who helped us made us feel very welcome! We are looking forward to returning in the future.

This hotel is amazing. The service is 5 stars, the natural hot spring spa is very cool and the rooms are beautiful. This was a traditional japanese hotel that i wanted to experience. I cant recommend this place enough!.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at matsuzakaya hoten. The staff truly went above and beyond. When we arrived from our day out, there was always a staff member waiting outside to greet us. Our bags were waiting for us in our room when we used the luggage forwarding service. Beer, water, tea, and coffee were all provided in the clean room. Every day, the restaurant served as if it had been reopened. We speak japan at about graduation, so the staff was incredibly helpful in playing with us while we were there. I cant express how wonderful our time there were.

We had such a wonderful time here! A lovely ryokan with peaceful shared areas overlooking lush gardens. We arrived around 4 pm and made reservations for 550 pm to use one of the lovely private onsens. In midst of jazz playing, we enjoyed complimentary shochu, soda, and sake in idly quiet reading rooms. The dinner rivaled some of our Michelinstarred kaiseki meals we had elsewhere. Excellent service was provided. Our stay here was truly like waking up to heavenly heavenswe are looking forward to returning!.

The matsuzakaya was among the most enjoyable experiences weve ever had. The grounds, the architecture / layout, and the rooms themselves are all very beautiful. As one walks through the halls, it quickly becomes apparent that the property has a long and rich history. Our time there felt more like being stayed in idly sized and opulent home than in an inn on many occasions. We particularly enjoyed the reading room and outdoor bath on the garden deck next to our room. Onsen was also excellent. Throughout the entire experience, staff were extremely kind, helpful, or welcoming. Excellent kaiseki meals. Overall, this experience was peaceful and rejuvenating. I wish ive remained longer and will definitely be back! The inman is tucked away, but because it is so green and quiet there, its just as well be seen as if it was ok. Every 30 minutes, he runs utmost cautionary bus to take guests to town or lake ashi. Thank you once again to the matzuzaka staff for such

A very satisfying hot spring trip. You can reserve a private bath at the front desk. Japanese service is available from the moment you walk in! The food for dinner and breakfast was also excellent. It was the most satisfying hotel on our trip!.

The journey to matsuzakaya takes a little extra effort, but it is well worth it at least once. The staff was waiting outside for our arrival and promptly collected our luggage and prepared our rooms. We were greeted with hot tea, coffee and savory dessert while lounging in the common area. Beautiful property, private and public onsen, tableware, flower arrangements, traditional clothing, and endless amenities all contributed to an amazing atmosphere. Attention to detail is out of this world. Being in matsuma really transports you into eras. Overall, the experience was very informative and gave us hints into japanese customs as well as educating guests.
