In November 2019, I stayed here for two nights. The room was spacious, but the blanket was huge and my skin was very itchy. I was unable to sleep well at night until I requested a blanket change on and morning, before remaining at night and day. The Japanese dinner on sat night was impressive and delicious. Dinner was served in a private room. The atmosphere was tranquil and pleasant. For both the night and the night, the hotel employees offered to change to eat French food and left us quite disappointed. The restaurant's dining area is the same place for breakfast. The male employee who served us had poor English. He could barely comprehend what I wanted to say in the menu detail. The service was slow and the French cuisine's taste was greatly under our expectations. The change from japanese dinner to French dinner should not be permitted. However, the hotel's garden was lovely in the fall.

I will certainly return to this place. In early March 2017, my wife and I stayed here for one night just in time for the cherry blossom season. We had never been to a Roman before, and kikusui made it a special one. We were the only visitors in the Roman because this was the low season for tourism. We had a delicious kiseki dinner and the entire bath to ourselves. The employees were excellent. The following day, they held our bags while we walked around Kyoto. The garden and surroundings were lovely. I enjoyed strolling through the garden at night and listening to the carp in the tiny pond. They emit an odd barking sound that fish never makes. Sitting in front of the open window with the breeze coming in and drinking tea after a hot soak bath is heavenly. I had not felt so relaxed in ages.

The location is very close to Nanzenji Temple and 5 minute walk from Kyage station which is a direct access to Lion. The setting is very calm. The garden is lovely and the Roman itself is quiet. All the staff are very helpful and very kind. The food is excellent.

When we spotted this restaurant, we were taking the children around Lion and looking for a nice, non-smoking place to eat. Located on the corner directly across the train station. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the toilets are spotless. Pricey but the kids' meal was very good and flavorful, especially the meatballs. However, I don't remember much about what we ate.
