Penang Tax : Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. NOTE: Effective September 1st, 2017, as per Government of Malaysia requirements, hotel guests who are not Malaysian citizens or long-term/permanent residents of Malaysia will be levied a tourism tax of RM 10.00 per room per night stay. Please note these changes in tax structure will result in revised taxes being charged and will be payable additionally during check in.
A security deposit of RM200 per room per night for incidentals is collected at check-in and refunded after check-out if no charges apply. Release of funds for credit card holds may take several business days depending on the issuing bank.

Important Notice
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our guest experience, Hard Rock Hotel Penang will be undertaking Phase 1 of our scheduled renovation works for selected rooms and the Rock Royalty Lounge from 30 March 2026 until November 2026.
During this period, the hotel will continue to operate as usual with the remaining rooms available for booking. Alternative arrangements will be provided in lieu of the club lounge benefits. The hotel will undertake essential safety rectification work on the kids’ water play flooring from 03 - 09 May 2026. During this period, the kids’ water play area including the slides will be temporarily closed.
