We stayed for two nights in June 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Yes, the loft room is small but definitely comfortable. And there is a very high viewing patio where you can actually see the sun set into the ocean. The room was clean, had good water pressure and lots of hot water. There is no stair climbing, and I found parking on the street easily. Parking could be harder as the season progresses. The owner was friendly and attentive. 5 for value!.

We booked a hotel very soon before our trip and as it was September there weren't many options without paying a fortune. Maryloujohn villas were in oil and reasonably priced, so we chose the caldera view room. Arriving there was a small mix up with our room, but this was quickly fixed and we loved our caldera view room. There was a kettle, hot plate and fridge in the room and the bathroom had toiletries. The Air Conditioner works well, and the bathroom was small but did the job. Despite some reviews, we found the owner to be friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Yes there is no pool, but john told us about a pool that was accessible over the road for a fee but we were too busy to try it. The location was excellent, on the main road in oil with a supermarket opposite and plenty of restaurants close by. Ok not a cave room with a pool but not at the high cost of one of those either. The non-view rooms face behind the hotel so we really preferred the view room. We were very satisfied with our stay and oil was definitely the right village to stay in, so maryloujohn villas was definitely a good place to stay without mortgage your house!.

I will definitely come back. We recently visited and stayed at Marlon John villas. We had a problem checking in, but John sat with us for over an hour until it was resolved. The room we stayed in was beautiful and exactly what we needed while exploring Santorini. It is right on the main street and has a variety of facilities we were invited to use. John and the other lady at the reception both made and provided us drinks throughout our stay. John was a very knowledgeable host and recommended many activities, including the sunset boat tour, which was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

If you don't want your host to smell alcohol, I advise you against it. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant stay if you skip all those things. Due to the fact that our reservation was placed at the last minute, we regret it. The only thing we were staying in was the great location. We discovered numerous hairs all over the place, and the linens had an odd odor, and the room wasn't very clean. There is a large open terraceyard that is shared by everyone, but it's not as private as you might imagine because the front path is rather verdant. Also, the owner and our host, John, were friendly at first but after a few hours, he became unpleasant with us and with the vast majority of people there.
