We received a nice and warm welcome by the hotel staff when we arrived. After checking in, a lady showed us the room, which was looking nice, but was not suitable for families with children at all. The size of the bed is ok for two adults, but far too small for two adults and even one child. In the hotels online offering it was advertised that up to 2 children are staying for free. In the small print it was said that there will be extra costs for an extra bed but there was no price shown at all. When we asked for that, the hotel staff offered us a baby bed for 1000 baht (26€) which was 70% of the cost for one adult. We felt that this is far too expensive in comparison to the cost for the room and after all there was simply not enough space for a family of 4. So we asked the manager to cancel our booking. First he said that he has no influence on the cancellation policy of the booking service Agoda where we booked the room. When calling the Agoda hotline, the agent told us a cancellation would be possible, if the manager agrees to that. When we talked again to the manager he denied the cancellation because the owner of the property had denied his approval. We felt absolutely ripped off, because our online booking was only 2 days ago and there where 4 further rooms available at the same time when we wanted to cancel.
