We stayed in 3 rooms for a few nights in July 2022, as part of a 18-day trip across the country, in which we stayed in 8 lodgeshotels. The staff here was very friendly and accommodating. The food was also excellent. The facilities are excellent, with a pool and walking bridge, and a good ambiance in the bar. The only issue we had was the overcharging for their laundry service. Compared to other lodges, it cost about triple the price. We would definitely consider returning. James.

I really liked my stay at the lodge. The owner of the lodge and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped me arrange the game drive, the beatrice and even dropped me off outside the part where I would be picked up again by my colleagues.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. At the end of September 22nd, we remained there for a few nights while traveling through Uganda on an expedition. The expedition had us camping all over uganda, but when we got to samba, I decided to upgrade to a double room because I would be celebrating my birthday there. The location is impressive, with a fantastic pool with fluffy towels nearby, a zip line, a canopy walk, a fantastic restaurant and bar that overlooked the fire pit into the forest. My room was outstanding. The park is large, clean, and extremely comfortable, with amazing private view. However, what was most remarkable was how concerned and attentive the employees were once they knew it was my birthday, they went above and beyond! Sandra from reception made me out of it, and Ibrahim, the chef, baked a cake that some of the team carried out to the camp fire in a procession of candles and singing happy birthday. Finally, another staff members joined us for the evening to eat cake and enjoy the fire, they were all great friends. Remember that this was my first night at samba, and they didn't know me, but I'm guessing that with some prior warning from our expedition leader they went out of their way. I was extremely touched. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. We spent a few nights there at the end of September 22 as part of a trip across Uganda. My room was fantastic. Spacious, clean, and very comfortable with beautiful private views of the forest. But what was so special was how amiable and attentive the staff were once they knew it was my birthday they went above and beyond! Sandra from reception made a complete fuss about me, Ibrahim the chef made a cake which some of the team carried out to the campfire in a procession with candles singing Happy Birthday. At some point more staff joined us in the evening to eat cake and enjoy the fire, they were all lovely company. I was overjoyed and thrilled that these wonderful people would ultimately have one of the best birthdays. Remember, this was my first night at samba, and they didn't know me, but I'm guessing with our expedition leader's advance warning, they went to such trouble. I was so moved. Having been cheated by our travel agency and losing a lot of money led us to arrive at the lodge late at night and felt very confused. We were so welcomed and made comfortable at Samba River Lodge. They also let us borrow their phone since there is no service at the park and gave us suggestions for future trips and travel agencies. They also provide delicious cuisine and a reasonably priced shop that sells handcrafted products. I would absolutely recommend this lodge to anyone staying here for one night or even a month!.

This lodge isn't near the safari area, it's about a 45min drive to get there. The rooms are nice but lacking services, such as no hot water for half the time, smelly towels, not enough towels, etc. The food is good but it's buffet style.

There was an incident of theft unfortunately conducted by the staff. After the manager was informed, he took proactive measures to correct the mistakes and restore our lost money. The lodge offered two free meals to compensate, and the staff was fired. Unfortunately, we also had another incident where two bats flew into our room and mosquitos nets, tried calling the reception desk via what’s app but nobody replied for two hours, then the power was out, the internet was cut. We couldn’t go out to the lobby to ask for help due to wild animals active at night, while having a fever in the middle of the night. It wasn’t a pleasant experience.
