Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd, or commonly called Jetstar, is an Australian low-cost airline headquartered in Melbourne. The airline is a subsidiary of Qantas, which was released to rival other Low-Cost Carriers, such as Virgin Blue. Jetstar carries around 8.5% of all passengers traveling in Australia.
The airline operates an extensive domestic network and regional and international services from its main base at Melbourne Airport using a mixed fleet of Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Like its parent, Qantas, Jetstar competes with Virgin Australia and Virginair's subsidiary, Tigerair Australia.
JetStar Airways is divided into four airlines according to their area, namely Jetstar Asia Airways, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, and Jetstar Japan. Cabin Baggage
- 1 (one) cabin baggage and 1 (one) personal item with a maximum total weight of 7 (seven) kg.
- The dimensions of the item must not exceed 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm.
Checked Baggage
- Checked baggage allowance depends on the type of fare or bundles purchased. Passengers have the option to purchase an additional baggage allowance if needed.
- Starter Economy Rates:
- Does not include checked baggage allowance.
- Passengers can purchase a baggage allowance of 15 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg, 35 kg, or 40 kg.
- Starter Economy Fares with Plus bundle:
- Checked baggage allowance of 20 kg (10 kg for Jetstar Japan (GK) domestic flights.
- Passengers can purchase up to an additional 20 kg if they need it (up to 30 kg for Jetstar Japan (GK) domestic flights).

Public policy
- Every passenger must occupy the seat which is determined during check-in.
- Carry-on baggage must be put in luggage compartment or below the passenger’s seat.
- Cellphones and any electrical devices must be switched off or alter to flight mode, especially during take off and landing.
- Please tighten your seatbelt, fold the table, put your seat upright, and open the window during take off and landing.
- It is against the law and strictly prohibited to smoke anywhere in the aircraft during the flight.
Expectant Mother Policy
- Flights of less than 4 (four) hours:
- Single pregnancy – up to the end of the 40th week.
- Multiple pregnancy – up to the end of the 36th week.
- Flights of 4 (four) or more hours:
- Single pregnancy –up to the end of the 36th week.
- Multiple pregnancy – up to the end of the 32nd week.
- Passengers with a gestational age of 28 weeks or more, must bring a health certificate from a midwife or personal doctor.
- The certificate is dated no more than 10 days before the trip.
- This document must confirm:
- estimated date of birth
- is it single or multiple pregnancy
- that pregnancy is free of complications

Specific Medical Condition Policy
- Airlines can help passengers:
- with limited mobility requiring wheelchair assistance, outpatient assistance, and onboard and off-board assistance;

- who travel with assistive devices

Infants and Children Policy
- If you are traveling with more than one infant or want to reserve a seat for your infant, you need to get our help to make your reservation. Please contact us.
- Infants can sit on the passenger's lap during the flight. Passengers will be provided with a special seat belt for babies connected to a regular seat belt.
- Passengers can purchase a separate seat for the baby, but they must sit up unaided.
- If an infant cannot sit in an airplane seat without assistance, then passengers must bring an approved car seat so that they can be seated.
- Children aged 2 (two) years or over must purchase a ticket and travel with an allocated seat for safety reasons.
Unaccompanied Minors
- Young passengers are considered to be able to travel independently if they are in school or enrolled in secondary school and:
- can show evidence at check-in that they are attending school or are enrolled in high school; and
- can meet the Independent Traveler Requirements.
- Young passengers aged 12 years or over are required to present the following documents upon check-in:
- Passport or birth certificate (proof of age for passengers aged 12 years and over);
- School ID card from high school (could be from the previous year and maybe expired); or
- Letter from secondary school on school letterhead stating the year and confirming current attendance or enrollment at current secondary school (including enrollment in secondary school for the year to come after graduating from primary school).
- Children who have not been enrolled in or attended secondary school will be deemed unable to travel independently and must be accompanied by an appropriate accompanying passenger.
Important notes:
Please arrive at the departure terminal at least 90 minutes before take-off for domestic flights and at least 2 hours for international flights.
Check-in counter would be closed 45 minutes before take-off.

Refund
The conditions for submitting refund are as follows:
- Vouchers cannot be cashed either in cash or credit card balances if the vouchers are not exchanged.
- Vouchers can be exchanged more than one time if there is still balance available in the voucher. To check voucher balance click here.

Reschedule
