Trigana Air began operations in early 1991 with 2 Beechcraft SUPER-KING B-200C (SKA B-200C) fleets and 2 NBell-412SP helicopters manufactured by IPTNi (Indonesian Aircraft Industry) Bandung. At the end of 1991, the demand for air transportation in Indonesia shot up high, and Trigana Air was trying to meet that demand.
Trigana Air's first client in March 1991 was PT Mapindo, which used our SKA B-200 fleet to map forestry photographs on all islands in Indonesia. This project was the first high-precision, and best aerial photography carried out in the country of Indonesia. The success of this project led Trigana Air to add three other aircraft to its clients for the same service.
However, along with the success of the mapping photography, Trigana Air's clients finally bought their airplanes and made the airline rack their brains to find a gap to always develop in the world of Indonesian air transportation. Trigana Air bought 4 F27-600 fleets to replace the SKA-B200 fleet. Trigana Air's new aircraft is based in Jakarta and is operated as a passenger and cargo charter aircraft in collaboration with CONOCO and scheduled domestic flights (Sempati Air).
At present, Trigana Air is focused on domestic flights and continues to expand its flying area even to small airports. For the convenience of customers, this airline presents the ATR fleet with a capacity of 50 people and a Boeing 737 fleet.
